The New Stuff

Sarabham Review

Sarabham joins the list of movies that has the distinction of having a fast screenplay. One of the most important aspects of crime thrillers like Sarabham is the swiftness with which it moves. When boredom seeps in at some point, the entire plot goes waste. Kudos to the director for understanding this well and ensuring that the film moves at a fast pace without boring the audiences. The story is all about Naveen Chandra’s project getting rejected by Naren. When he goes to wreck his vengeance on him, Naveen Chandra encounters his wastrel, drug addict daughter Saloni Luthra.

Since both of them are in dire need of money, they stage a kidnap drama to milk Rs. 30 crores from Naren. Unfortunately, Saloni is found murdered and what happens next forms the rest of Sarabham. The story revolves on Naveen Chandra, Saloni Luthra and Naren. Of course, Naren has once again proved that he is a versatile actor. Naveen Chandra has acted well but seems to find it difficult to get the right expressions at times. Saloni is a perfect fit for the role making us wonder if she is playing her true character. As told earlier, the film is very racy and there is no room for boredom. But, we cannot fail to notice some illogical issues.

If we go on to point out the logic issues here, then we will be breaking some of the suspense set in the second half. For a crime thriller like this, background score is highly important, but Michael Britto has failed in this department. Editing and camera are the biggest plus for this film.
