If a director is able to make the audiences realise the genre he is dealing with and is able to fulfil their expectations, then it is termed as a good film. And director R Parthiban has succeeded in it!
The story is all about an aspiring director, his assistants and the ruckus they create.
Despite director Parthiban’s statement that Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam does not have a story, he has definitely spun a tale. The film moves on with the love and tiff between the hero and heroine.
Though we can’t say that it is not the type of film that has ever been made, KTVI is a film that shouldn’t be missed. The biggest highlight of this film is Parthiban’s dialogues. The dialogues are not only witty but sharp as well. For example, the scene in which Thambi Ramaiah’s maid asks him if ever sees the films he has directed.
There is nothing that could be termed as negative in this flick but we wonder why a director like Parthiban, who is known for thinking out-of-the-box, hangs on the ‘Thaali’ sentiment. Other than this, KTVI is a complete laugh riot and a thoroughly enjoyable fare.
